Turbostart hydrodynamic and hydromechanical couplings join the Westcar catalogue
Following the acquisition of the New Turbostart brand, announced last July, Westcar adds two new fluid coupling lines to its product range: Turbostart hydrodynamic couplings and Turbostart Jolly hydromechanical couplings.
New Turbostart boasts over 60 years of experience in the design and manufacture of hydraulic and mechanical transmissions, with ISO 9001:2008 certification and ATEX-compliant supply options.

Designed for the gradual start-up of high-inertia machines driven by electric motors or diesel engines, the Turbostart hydrodynamic coupling covers a power range from 0.37 to 1,470 kW.
It ensures smooth start-ups, reduction of current peaks up to 50%, and protection against overloads and torsional vibrations.
Available in in-line, pulley-mounted and flanged versions for gear couplings, it can be equipped with the R partial draining device for even smoother control of the start-up phase.

Turbostart Jolly Hydromechanical Coupling >>
The Turbostart Jolly represents the evolution of the traditional hydrodynamic coupling: it combines the soft start typical of fluid couplings with 100% efficiency at operating speed.
A centrifugal mass device completely eliminates slip once operating speed is reached, preventing heat generation and ensuring energy savings.
With a power range from 0.37 to 2,200 kW, it is also available in versions with integrated brake (drum or disc) and in the special D110 version with double circuit.
